Injector pump solenoid seals Bosch VP30

Hi

Does anyone know if you can get the seals/gaskets separately for the bosch VP30 injector pump timing solenoid as pictured right?
I have searched online but no luck, don't really need a full pump recon set.

Do you just need the O rings and backing seals? If so just take them off and measure them, providing they are a standard size you shouldn't have any problem getting a set locally, or you could tale the bits to a fuel injection specialist, they should have some.

Yes just those......well i initially thought so, just spoken to specialist and there bottom dollar is on the solenoid having cracked under that green o-ring (I don't have it out the pump yet)

That's a pain, but it must be available as a spare?

Yeah can get them 2nd hand, apparently bosch only sell em new as part of a recon set (mega££), the pump is 600! more than the car worth! Can get them 2nd hand tested around 70 so may go down that route, its a winter run around, was hoping to get another year out of it without more £! cars eh!

That's a pain, have you tried a few other specialists? Sometimes pays to ring round.

I also think it may have cracked, unless you are using shall we say none standard fuel? because that can effect some of the rubbers. Just try and buy a secondhand timing solenoid.

Nope legit derv, was considering cooking oil but looked like too much hassle . Will hunt down a 2nd hand one

ive got a timing solonoid in the drawer but they are £100 and by the look it's a rover diesel is it suffering tractor syndrome ?

No not all the time, it does at start-up and when first pulling away then it fine. It's a nightmare to get the thing out at the mo! So no further forward yet

i had a similar problem with my Mercedes diesel..the last owner ran it on bio fuel..and what it does is perish the rubber o rings...i had to replace the whole lot..merc use imperial o rings..a nightmare it was...

Just a quick update in case anyone finds this on a web search in the future (pet hate of mine is finding exact same problem on a forum with no updates / solution)
It was a miss diagnosis on my part, found the leak was actually from the hydraulic head seal, it was seeping down the mating face and dripping off the solenoid. After a lot of expletives when the pump spat out its cam plate and rollers on disassembly it is now all back together and no longer leaking diesel out, total cost 4.98 ! So better than the 70 for a solenoid !
