Inexpensive rigger boots

Ive had these cheap Port West riggers for a month or two now and I'm quite impressed.
I'm only using them at home I like a pair of riggers when I'm down the garden or in the shed because it saves the faf of laces when I come in for my tea or whatever. They come into there own in the winter though if I have to pop out for coal always ready by the back door no hassle.
If I remember right these were sub £20 to the door. Worth a look at that price.

That’s good. I’m on the hunt for new boots. Tried them all. HH, Buckler, most of the German ones, you name it.

Not tried them. Not many can keep up with my constant dragging my feet. Current ones are 4 months old and thought to the steel sole.

Aye not bad for the money. The leather on mine was as hard as the hob of hell but a bit of tenderising over a few nights by working them in had them soft as butter in no time.

Look cheap enough - but are they waterproof? I've tried several over the years, and they've all given up within 3 months, except my current pair - 12 months on, the soles have disintegrated, and they remain waterproof - BUT double the price of your suggestion.
I'd give you a link, but they only have 5 pairs left, and I can't order my next pair until payday next week - so I don't want you lot buying them all before I get a chance

I gave mine a lick of dubbin so they're as waterproof as i can make make them. To be honest though i haven't been anywhere wet in them yet. Time will tell.

I bought some cheap rigger boots from Zoro when they were running an offer. There's plenty of room for thick socks as they are not fleece lined.

I know what happens when you wear rubber boots when welding - a friend told me.

As I did my DeWalt riggers, mentioned elsewhere. A lot of good it did them as the rubber heels fell off. Utter carp.

These Port West ones are to replace those.

Pretty sure weight is a big deal with boots. A 17st lad will wear out boots quicker than a 10st one.

I'm not a fan of boots flopping around on my feet and it always seems people wearing rigger boots need 5 cans of energy drink to get them to lunch time

In Herefordshire a massive chunk of people wearing slip on boots wear Redbacks. There's 5-6 places locally that sell them. The irony is they are Australian and my brother struggles to get them in ...... Australia.

Both my lads wear them everywhere, eldest has steels for work and non-steel for going out.

They sell half sizes too which is nice and apparently if you want a decent once they are setled in you need to go down half a size.
