My old Q&S is starting to look a bit tired and in need of replacment...

It cuts around 500mm between the jaws and about 350mm in the throat, looking for something similar if not slightly bigger, full hydraulics a must....

Any recommendations on makes to buy or avoid, Id rather go new as every saw Iv looked at S&H seams to have been flogged to death and in no better state than mine, I gather some of the Italian ones are attractive money but I don't know on the build quality....

Ours is a Kasto, needed to replace a few bearings recently, and a switch or two, other than that, its been pretty good......

Ours is a Jaespa, German made, odd couple of minor problems, but chomps away at anything from a bit of 12mm round bar to 406 UC all day long. I've been looking at Kaltenbach ones just before xmas. I'm after a second saw, bit bigger capacity, had a look at a couple, seem very good machines.
If you can afford a Kasto, go for it. Nice machines. I couldnt afford a new one, and second hand ones were hard to come by at that time.

Ive got a 650x400 Amada, hydraulic double clamp and mitre, its a sound jap built saw 2.6 ton brought second hand, highly recommended the only - point is its only 45deg ( they want $20000 secondhand in the US ) if only I could read the japanese on the controls. A quality second hand saw of the dimensions you require are few and far between and fetch many £0000. If I could afford new I would either get a kaltenbach or Imet KS 70/52 NC. The most recent new saws Ive seen are Bomar's and they didn't overly impress a bit wobbly/cheap and overly complicated controls..

the 1 at wrk is a macc tools one its in daily use almost constantly cutting I girder of about 310x190mm and it never misses a beat
