Anyone know who the manufacturer could be, looking for a tail stock to suit?

Measure some features of it so we can narrow down the places to look.
Centre height, T-slot width (and whether metric or imperial), threaded fasteners (metric or UN or BSW - hex head sizes will distinguish between the two imperial options), spindle taper, worm wheel ratio.
That would help to choose between British, European or American origins.
For comfortable operation, it has to be mounted on the right side of the table with the spindle facing left. That might pick it out in a photo.

Good find, at least there are other ones around so half a chance of finding a tail stock.
Worm ratio is 72:1
Fasteners are BSW
Centre height is 2 1/2"
Slot in the base is 9/16"
1 MT in the spindle.

Its more a case of wouldn't it be nice rather than I need.
This is my current solution, a centre in a collet with an adjustable stop.

The collet block centre is a good idea.
Measure the dividing plate (OD, ID, thickness and indexing pin hole diameter) and we could 3D model some new ones for 3D printing when you need a hole circle it does not have.
You can also 3DP linked bungs to block unused holes (e.g. when using the 24 hole plate for 6 divisions).
