I`d never heard of Eric Butterbean until today. Boxing is not the first thing that comes to mind when you see this guy. Weight is certainly power in this case.
I watched many of His matches with many mma turned fighters, he is ok but not enough stamina ! Really tough fighters are always athletic so they can last a few rounds- it’s not just the ability of taking punches which a bit of blobbed does help massively ! If you look at fresca’s depicting gladiators in antic Rome or Greece, they all were massive fighters with enough fat to protect vital organs from life threatening blows ! Their diet consisted of barley on a daily basis, which sure helps with fat deposits- that’s how you fatten pigs before Xmas !!!
He has some massive power that's for sure, but this guy (and yes he did some dubious stuff in and out the ring) had the speed and instincts to match his power.
I wonder if he would have kept it straight if Cus, his trainer woulnd't have died, and he became influenced by Don King.
Check out the dates as well, wheras a fighter now does 1 bout a year he did them monthly or even more.
Not all of his opponents were top level, but he knocked out some guys who were top contenders as well.
Never underestimate the smaller guy either like the bloke who made an issue for some reason of my uncle taking a bag of sand off the beach for his cage birds he came over giving it the large one in front of his mate little did he know the spry 60 year old in front of him was the welterweight champion of the parachute regiment in the 50s. He soon found out and needless to say he got his a**e handed to him........Oh and the birds got their sand ... Best never judge a book by the cover
