In need of someone with lathe - Sundridge Park, Kent way

Hi Guys,

Im in need of someone with access to a lathe to make a few journals deeper in some bearings i have for my engine thats currently being rebuilt..

I need some journals made deeper that they currently are by about 30-40thou..

Im located in Sundrige park close to Grove park in kent..

I don't mean to be pointed but its not really wise to say things like that on a forum. People forget 'anyone' can access a forum, you never know who's looking.

I'm quite happy to do pound note rates, but if he goes somewhere else he'll probably be charged the usual £40-£50 an hour.

Well up to you how you view it. Many are happy do to 'pound note rates', just don't think its wise to advertise it publicly lol. if you see my point one person drawing attention to it could affect many. Its unlikely i grant you, but these places are still public. Because we are faceless people on the net doesn't mean we are immune, far from it.

Very few can charge more than £40 an hour these days. Most of industry capped it some years ago, they wouldn't tolerate the £50 and £60 an hour rates anymore and literally dictated the rates. If they didn't comply out of business they go.

I for one have never been able to charge anywhere near that £40 rate. If i could get work at 40 quid an hour for 40 hours a week i would be a very happy guy.
