A radical development at the time by General Electric. Very interesting piece of technology that has never entered mainstream use but has been known and discussed ever since.

The UK has an unfortunate history of creating world technological firsts then letting the commercial exploitation slip away overseas. I bet Chrysler never overcame the 1st order harmonic positive feedback problem identified at the Rutherford Appleton lab in 1961; encabulators are tricky things. The later work by Siemens in Dortmunde never seemed to lead to any conclusion.

There was probably too many issues with the grouting brushes being chafed by the cranked dingle arm for it to be a roaring success.

i'm very impressed by the use of Crapaloy (Tungsten Cowhide) in the tremie pipes. Does anyone know where I can get some?

There was conjecture a while back that a wishy washy flap joint at opposed inline right angles to the cranked dingle arm could in theory not work, so it was as far as i know, never tried.

Saw a documentary some time ago where they tried pre-chaffed grouting brushes, but this turned out to be mega expensive.
