Ask someone who works for Ford they did it by the thousands in the 80s and 90s.
Chap I worked with bought a MKII Escort that had been a hire car in Jersey. Token miles and immaculate. And BL, we used to ship Metros out there, stayed a few months as ‘hire cars’ then we’d fetch them back again to sit in our yard for a few more months.

Vauxhall novaHi Jack
Some years ago, a colleague of mine sort of did and had no end of issues with HMRC. I'll explain. He was from Jersey and joined HM armed forces. He'd been home on leave and bought a car (2 or 3 years old) on the island bringing it back with him. As soon as the car had been here, I think it was a year, the tax man started hassling him for import duty!
It may be different for a really old car, but it might be worth researching that.
What car by the way?
Thanks i have been researching doesn't seem too much hassle but who knows, just looking for first hand experience of it after brexitMy best brought a Land Rover back from Jersey and I don't remeber there to being too much stress as I am sure we would have all known about it if there was
From memory I think he had to get it craned out of someone front garden, it was dragged on the ferry on Jersey and dragged off at this end. I don't recall how he got it back to his house in Berkshire.
That will not be relevant as the CI never joined the EU.after brexit
