im trying to locate a movie an old one

Hi guys,

I am trying to locate a movie. I remember watching it as a kid. Now as far as I can remember it was in black and white. it was about a white man who woke up one day to find himself turned into a black man.

Now as far as I am aware it is not "The watermelon man" which was made in the 1970s. But its very similar. If it is this movie - then that one is a remake of the original.

If you can help it is appreciated.

Try Googling some phrases from the storyline.

I had a nagging query about a film name from my own childhood, and Googling something like "Rat poison" Bakery eventually lead me to a film website and I found the film.

me too although I've not found the answer yet...

fifties (I think) b&w film about a guy who moved from Scandinavia early part of the 1900's and got a job working as the handyman at West Point USA. Stayed there for his whole life. I saw it once as a Saturday afternoon film on TV and never seen it since.

I`ve been asking about one for ages, people seem to think i`ve just dreamt it.

All I can clearly remember is that theres some mafia/gangster type guys, pull into a garage (in an oldish merc) and ask the lad for a tune up. Pop the bonnet and i think it had a chevy lump under there, all shiney with blue and red fittings. Quick tweek then they go out on the road, taking the lad from the garage with them. Someone cuts them up, a small chase happens, ending with the car being shunted/driven over the edge of a cliff. I think its 70`s or 80`s from what I remember.
