Im new and would like some advice on FIMER

Hi everybody

Im new to welding (did some back in college about 8 years ago) and i have started my new project of a defender 90. It needs a bit of welding (dont they all) and i have found one of these http://www.fimer.com/uk/saldatura/prodotto.asp?Internal=6S4%2E195%2E102%2301&Sito=6S4.195.102&Cat=mig&Scat=

Its a FIMER wm 195, ex demo/display for £450 (is my max budget, i wish it was more) inc torch, gloves, helmet and 15kg of wire. Also i would rather buy from a shop than ebay.

The read up on the spec seems good but i wondered if anybody has any advice on the make?

I cant find much online

Welcome to the forum, dont know anything about the Fimer I'm afraid...looks nice though and if the outfit includes an auto darkening helmet sounds a good buy pricewise.

Suppose a lot depends on backup and spares situation etc.

Hopefully somone with more knowledge of the brand will come along.

Not that great an idea to buy an unknown make on price alone............If you are in Southampton go along to RH Davey in Quayside Road, and see if they can help (they can provide proper aftersales service).
