I require the knowledge of the forum members.
I need to source a bolt. I don't know the length, dia or thread pitch so this should be an easy one.
it is a stock retaining bolt off a Baikal 27em o/u shotgun. I aquired the gun from a mate who was selling all his gear due to moving to oz. bought a job lot off him, sold all but the gun and in the end I only spent a fiver so it must be worth a try to fix it.
basically, it occasionally fires both barrels at the same time, even though it is a single trigger, and it also has an auto safety which I hate so I want to remedy both of these issues. only problem is the bolt that holds the stock on seems to be cross threaded and possibly way to tight anyway. have had it in a vice that is bolted to my welding bench, 60kg of cast iron weights on the bench to hold it down, my mate holding the stock straight and me with a screwdriver ground to fit properly, and a spanner on the hex of the screwdriver trying to undo the bolt, and still ended up getting nowhere except twisting the head off the screwdriver.
so, new plan, drill the head off the bolt, get the stock off and sort it out properly from there. but I don't want to touch it with the drill until I have a replacement bolt as knowing my luck I will drill it out and never find a replacement, then will have to make another part to accept a new thread and as I still don't have a lathe or mill again yet that is a big job in itself.
so any help will be appreciated. I have emailed York guns but had no reply, sportsman have no idea and I cant find anyone breaking a gun that has the part I need.
AFAIK the bolt is the same on all Baikal models with a wooden stock
