Ikea Waste Fitting

IKEA sink & grey trap. Some other make of telescopic trap in white that does not fit the IKEA thread it seems. It seemingly did but came adrift and will not screw back on. Previously "made" to fit with silicone that's given up. Everything I've read tonight suggests this is a known issue and it's best to ditch the IKEA trap and fit another make. Anyone any experience of this?

As another possible source of supply, that same adaptor is always needed for commercial catering sink plug holes to adapt them to standard BSP traps.

As said, fit McAlpine and forget it.
I did ours a year or so ago including ditching the original IKEA waste trap and weird corrugated pipe.
It drains much quicker.

That silver grey sink adaptor is exactly the same as my Franke sink fitted about 20 years ago. It uses a outer nut with two wings on it and an orange plastic, wedged, olive like seal. Other parts are telescopic.
