So I know this has being discussed before in this forum but I haven't understand it yet
I know that IGBT are much reliable when we talk about current but I read that new MOSFET technology has been improved in the last years but on the other hand I think that also IGBT has been improved because technology is in a continuous improvement process since when you got something that allows you upgrade improve and upgrade something that is what normally should happen
Essentially my question born because I'm pretty close (really close) to ending buying a new piece of equipment for my hobby that's is related to welding etc
I have an inverter welder that uses IGBT technology and according with my experience I feel good with this technology but I can't even remember if I ever used a MOSFET based inverter before because I have yes used other inverters but I never had the curiosity to compare or at least know the various features or advantages between this two technologies
So now I feel curious to know and learn more about
I thought that probably the differences could be minimal to be understood by me because I don't use welders plasma cutters or power inverters every day but it's probably time to know more
Thank you a lot to everyone can help me to learn more about
And sorry if is ot in this section but I thought that in other sections could be not completely compatible with
