Went out in the van the other day with the trailer on and as we came round an island to out exit a Scania on polish plates rolled out of the junction at us, We tried to steer away but hit hit the very back corner of the trailer, It made a a bit of noise and i thought it had messed the trailer up, It just left a bit of paint on us but the Scania looked alot worse.. The dashcam only shows him driving at us not the bang ...i must get a rear cam, I should start posting all the near miss vidoes somewhere..

Had a fella in a brand new merc plough into the back of a brian james tilt bed car transporter at a set of traffic lights a few years back. Trailer suffered a broken tail light and number plate light, the merc cost €7,000 to fix. He said I jammed on the brakes and the trailers brake lights weren't working. CCTV showed me completely stopped at the red light for about 10 seconds before he ploughed into me at 30mph while writing a text.

That's a bit [well, a lot actually] harsh on all the highly skilled prodfessional drivers who deliver our goods. Their judgement, esp when reversing into tight spaces is a thing of wonder. And, like watching golfers, snooker players etc, they make it look so easy - until you get a chance to try it for yourself.

From my observation, most 'private' drivers can't even reverse a car trailer.

I drive a fair bit with due care and never really get stressed, But i don't do it for a living and can understand that if i did it would be very different....and your not wrong i can't reverse a car trailer or drive with a caravan.... i avoid doing it lol
