I was thinking along those lines. If they tried to jemmy the door they would go for the side with lock on, which in this case would have reinforced hinges.

If yer are determined to strenghten the door? put a Double glaze type in but you would have to also strenghten the doors opening in the shed.
Lets face it...even the plod have trouble getting their ramrods through a DG door and even then its smashed a hole in the center of the door and not the frame that gives way.

The police broke into a house near us as the occupier was growing cannabis. He had a white upvc door and it took two hits to knock the middle panel out. They stepped in through it no problem about 5 seconds flat.

what about a nice hefty metal frame around the opening with some spreader bars to make it hard to pull away from the wood , then a steel framed mesh door but make it so you can wood clad the outside to look normal

I used to design locks for a large world wide company for upvc and while there were many regulations the two strong pullers were the po po want it to be easy to open with a ram and the BS specification wanted a set attack time or load.
UPVC doors are quite easy to open, generally you want a composite door but for the shed a nice steel box frame and door would be fine with a 5 lever lock installed.
