Ideas for a meeting venue??

Hello,

I need to plan a meeting/launch for next January for about 20-25 peeps. My wish list would be.....

Stately home(esque) with on site accomadation

Bar/Evening meal facilities

Meeting room

On site team building/event facilities for something 'fun' to do after the meeting, clay pigeon shooting etc

Location not that important as people will be staying overnight anyway, but preferably a central UK location.

Any ideas???

Hi Matt,
I asked my missus because she used to be in a job involving organising corporate events up and down the country. Her reply included some negative stuff I can't paste here and then... "Oulton Hall, Leeds was very good – looks like a stately home and I recall doing archery on site … it’s a De Vere hotel so would be easy to find online.

I’m not sure you will find clay pigeon shooting anywhere on site – too much chance of shooting a fellow guest! All the CPS I did was off site (although close)."

Probably not central enough for you though?

I will look.

Location for me isn't so important because as I said all of the delegates will be travelling from all over the country anyway, but central would be best as by its very nature is central for most people to get too.

There are some great places in Scotland that would be superb for that, but not exactly central, unfortunately.
One place mind you - Glenfinnan House Hotel - train from Fort William, over the Harry Potter viaduct, off at the station, then stay at the Hotel which is an old hunting lodge, lots of ground outside for shooting, a loch for fishing. Gorgeous.

Whittlebury hall, is quite popular for these kind of events, near to Towcester between the M1 and the M40 just down the road from Silverstone circuit, I've never stayed there because its just up the road from me, but have been to various functions there, quite nice.

Oulton Hall is just down the road from me. I've been to a couple of team building things there in a previous life. I'd recommend it.
Pricey mind, but i suppose it depends on your budget.

The motor racing museum at Donnington Park used to have a conference room at the back. That was when Tom Wheatcroft was alive, so I don't know if it's still in use now his son Kevin has taken over.

graystone castle on the edge of the lakes. they do a wide range of outdoor sports inc clay shooting, black power muskets, axe chucking and a superb off road course. that's where landrover launched the second disco and first freelander

its called the launch pad suite. i was there last friday for a friends wedding reception.
