I am slowly building up my rolling chassis again, this time with the 2.9i Cologne engine and A4LD. It is surprising how many specially made parts are required, even though this powerplant was standard in the 77 Middlebridge Scimitars. I have just finished (battling through Manflu) the PAS bracketry, but for the rear adjustment bracket, I have to space it off the block. The Middlebridge part is a one piece and no chance of finding one, so I have to make it.
I haven't properly measured it yet but will be cylindrical, about 14-17mm diameter with an M8 clearance hole and maybe 25-30mm long. I currently have a couple of m12 nuts in there as spacers to prove the concept, but I can't leave it like that.

Does anyone know of spacers of a similar dimension that I could cut down perhaps please? It is the bracket in this photo that I need to fabricate...

Only a quick suggestion, A short length of steel bar/ bolt etc sawn to length and ends file square and the drilled for the 8mm clearance,

Metro seat pillars! If you can find a Metro they are used to raise (with) or lower (without) the front seats.

Just done some checking and it would seem that it will be one inch long and up to around 7/8" diameter although that dimension is not so important. 5/16" clearance or slightly larger to prevent corrosion seizing it up.

I have a few short pieces of ERTALYTE (this is an engineering 'plastic' used for bearings and bushes etc). it is 25mm od, I can put an 8 or 8.5 mm hole down the middle in the lathe and send a piece down for you in the post if it helps?

If I drill a piece about 75mm long are you happy to cut to length?

If so I will drill tomorrow and post out FOC Monday.

I have drill one piece about 75mm deep with an 8.5mm drill, I have also included a spare length in case you need to make further changes.
