I now have two deep scratches on the driver's door of my car from something similar.
I have a block of wood attached to the garage floor to act as the reversing stop. It's only been there for about 6 months so I keep forgetting about the bit that sticks out past the wheel.
I was carrying a moderately fragile item, couldn't see my feet, tripped over the wood, staggered, rolled, bounced off the door, clouted the mirror and fell on the floor.
'Oh dear' I said once I got my breath back.
10 years ago I would have carried on rolling onto my feet and pretended nothing had happened.
20 years ago I would have got to the 'staggered' bit and regained my balance whilst saying 'Oops'.
30 years ago I would have remembered the wood was there and lifted my feet up!

i have a couple of war wounds when i was a kid one on chin and other on forehead that needed stitches 
tripped on rubble nutted the wall and nearly ate the rubble

I have similar on my chin, I was riding my tricycle down our sloping drive in the dark & my brother had left his bike laid down where I couldn’t see it. Hit bike ...... over handlebars ...... landed on chin. Still the tricycle was undamaged. Excellent it’s funny till someone gets hurt, and then it’s hilarious. I’ve a few battle scars from doing all sorts, a broken tooth where I put a spanner through it as it slipped on the bolt, and a fear of magnetos having had a good few cracks off meteor ones when fitting
