ive got a job interview and am expected to take weld test,i cant remeber the heat setting for a 6010 river rod i think its 150 but dont want to look goofy trying to get the right amp at test
3/16 rod diameter i believ
Doesn't it depend on prep and position, or is it a trick question where a river rod is only used for a single type of weld? Also don't they give you a WPS for the test?
Otherwise you would surely look like you care about what you are doing more if you set the welder up on some scrap first rather than guessing at it and going straight into the job.
riverrod is just a nickname it a 6010 all position hot rod itll burn through anyting rust paint grease etc. I took the test uphill vert and flat lap,i didnt get a WPS just some scrap to get set up on then prepd test plate i got the amp it took me a min it was about 165 for my tech and speed i travle its for a barge repair company thanks anyway
