I need a new welder!

I have a Clarke MIG 151EN from new and used it a bit now and then over the years but since moving house with more space have started to try to master the welder but seem to spend more time fixing un-jaming or repairing the darn thing,I was only a beginner at one time (a long time ago) and still feel like a beginner! as of late I have spent more time bodging the damned thing than welding.So time for a new reliable MIG/mma welder to work on 240v 13 amp ish (for now) supply up to 200 amp and Ive got +/- £500-600 to spare looked at lincoln bester,r-tech,parweld.patton,headux.Can anybody help me choose ,they all say how great they are but what is the the verdict of others? Im baffled I want the best for my hard earned dosh.Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum, R-Tech seem to be recommended by most on here.

If you want a mma welder I would recommend going for old rather than new and getting an Oxford 180a or Pickhill. Cheap to buy second hand and very reliable.
I spent over £800 on a IFL and it only lasted a bit longer than the guarantee, (repair price would buy 3 Oxfords). Now I'm back to using the old Pickhill, which is similar to Oxford..
I have a spare Oxford 140a but Suffolk is quite a distance away.

I can do you a little used (less than one spool of wire) R-Tech Mig180 which when I bought it, made me realise that I actually CAN weld! Like you I was messing about with a Clarke 150T and one particular job for a VIP embarrassed me so much, I took the plunge. I have now bought the new Mig181 on a whim so the 180 is available at £400 collected from Gloucester. If you need shipping, I now have the 181's box to send it in!
