Toolstation delivery was as any normal delivery prices,I have a local branch and its not too far away from me but they deliver free with orders over £10.

How long can they keep that up?

Ordered some stuff to the tune of £20 on Sunday and got it on following Tues,thats not bad for a free delivery to me door.

My local branch is 10 miles away at Trafford Park so i always take the free delivery option. Trafford park is a pain to get to in the week, right by the Trafford centre.

Although i do feel a bit silly if City Link try to deliver when i'm not around and i end up going to the City Link depot to collect the parcel, the City Link depot is behind Toolstation!!

But yes, £10 order and free delivery sometimes seems too good to be true. I believe they are owned by Travis Perkins? Not that thats relevant!

Toolstation was started by the same person as SF I seem to recall.

I tend to use the counters rather than delivery, no messing about waiting in for a parcel.
It has been £5 for free delivery for a good while now.

Free coffee in Toolstation too

Half the stuff in both TS and SF is junk mind.

Usless junk,just took these back....thought the price was too good to be true.
Now I ain't no gardner but the blades cutting edge don't meet at the point they should in a closed position which makes the blades trap the privets rather than chop em.

SF prices:

Yesterday, I wanted to buy one of those Garage Defender locks and a long padlock.
Compared SF prices to Ironmongery Direct, which has a depot 10 mins walk from me and found I could save twenty pounds via ID.....it pays to be vigilant when these organisations get swept up by the conglomerates.

The average joe that walks into these places will not really benefit from the likes of screwfix and toolstaion ect,ect as they're basically for the trade,have a trade and show your card and they get discount.

It is true what you're sayin though that local handymans(Corner shop not the sheds) can save you bundles in reality but is limited to stock.
