i have a 1/6hp motor, 1450rpm.

i would like a linisher but that is just out of lust really, have no real need for one. i already have a bench grinder and a grinder with brass and stainless brushes on it for polishing.

cant think of anything else apart form a linisher that i could build with it, so suggestions on a postcard please

Put a mop on a spindal for bright polishing.

its a bit light for polishing or a linisher it will stall easily. minimum would be quarter hp

Howabout gearing the speed down and make a welding positioner or a bead roller.

Do you have a old mower engine too? Swap the piston for a scotch yoke and make a die filer from it. The hard bits are already done (crank, cases).

as it happens i do. Although its all in bits in a box full of water in the garden.

anyone got a picture of a die filer?

Is 1/6hp powerful enough to make a decent cooling Fan?
the 24" drum fan in MM runs at 1400rpm, shifts 5500 cuft/min and costs £120
the 18" axial plate fan runs at 1400rpm shifts 3000 cuft/min and costs £348...
?

Ive got 1/4 hp 3 phase on mine, but its not finished yet. So many other things to do...

A Power hacksaw was my other thought and if your clever about it you could make the hacksaw and diefiler in one.

I have a lovely tapping machine with a 1/6hp motor, but unbelievably, it's three phase! if you don't find a good use for it I'd be happy to give it a home!
