I blame you lot, especially @Rannsachair and @OJCar , for this turning up today.

It'll join my very small collection of possible future Collector's whiskies. Nr 140 of 236, cast strength [57.9% abv iirc] - I only need another 96 folk to buy and who knows , it might appreciate. I must say it's beautifully presented, the box is stunning and really looks the part.

Looks interesting John. I got a great buy on Old Pultney 15 year old for Christmas presents, then decided to keep one to myself and bought my dad a bottle of Timorous Beastie instead

I had access to these when Moray Golf Club celebrated their Centenary, bought three as they were only supposed to be available to Members and limited, but I had 'connections' *cough, cough*....

Gave one to my Brother, one to my best mate and kept one for myself. It was bottled by Macallan in a limited edition of 2000 flasks - see info HERE . Iirc, it was sold to Members at £16 or £18 back then, wish I could have got more but we mustn't be greedy eh?
Did I tuck it away for the future? Did I Hell as like, I've regretted opening it ever since. Won't make that mistake again, it was a nice dram though.

Worked at a house, owner was into whisky, was member of various clubs or something.

Was buying 3 at a time, 1 to drink, 1 to keep, and 1 to sell when/if value went up.

Maybe 4-5k was top end of his collection, each.

My concern with such special whiskey (we spell it with an 'e' in Ireland) is that it might go bad, having been stuck inside a cask and then a bottle for so many years. The lack of oxygen can't be good for it...

I have one bottle of a special 16 year old Bushmills whiskey which I'm forbidden from drinking. Apparently its worth a couple of £££ now. Seems like a waste really.

when you go get them to cremate you by pouring it over the casket and setting light to it.

At new year my mother insisted I open a bottle of port, so I did. It was originally a xmas gift for my dad but he departed this life in 2009 having not opened it.
It's dated 2001. Tastes bloody delicious
