I bought two shiny new saws on a "too good to be true" special offer in Wickes ages ago , today was their day to shine and both are useless, if i had read the sleeves they say one is for laminate and the other plastics, neither will cut wood or ply they just jam in the cut.

Well done Wickes you found the muppet to off load those dodgy saws onto

The green one says "first fix" which to me means it should cut everything including plyboard and joists.

Those Venom's are good saws. Both of those will cut wood fine. The green is a ripsaw, the purple is a fine cut.

I have the green one, eats wood.
The pink one though, looks like it might identify as a serrated knife.

Modern hand saws have little to no set. So you have to keep that in mind when cutting, especially things like sheet goods which have a tendency to shift and pinch. For that a circ saw or track saw is usually the weapon of choice and with a decent blade will give a good quality of cut and minimal tear out.

Ive got one of the laminate ones, made for leaving a good finish on flooring or worktops etc so it’s got finer teeth, but should still cut no problem. It’s obviously a compromise between a coarser blade that will leave a ragged edge (but cut faster) versus a finer blade that cuts slower but leaves a good finish.

If the rest of the blade has other areas of buckling like the ringed section it would stick.

I'm surprised you are having trouble with those. I have the Green and Yellow handled (1st and 2nd fix) versions and they give me very good service.

Thar green one does have bumps all along it just behind the teeth, the purple one doesn't.
