I wasn't contradicting. Well not intentionally. You gave an example of the trailer and I gave a comparison of the vehicle.Im having trouble seeing what your point is? Your example, and my example are different, but you *seem* to be trying to counter my comment with yours?
I would agree in both your example, and my own - i dont see that they contradict one another!
Though tbh after reading through the comments the op mentions later that the merc owner was in the vehicle at the time of the crash and that changes my opinion somewhat. The vehicle was still in his care. He supervised the loading and was accompanying the vehicle at the time of the accident. I'll agree with the last post though. The driver should have had insurance to cover the job at hand.
