I know jewlers use hydrogen as a fuel gas, as it produces a very clean flame but what other uses dose hydrogen have over acetylene and propane? Just out of interest really.
Shirley you get that regardless of which fuel gas you use?I think its too dangerous plus you cant use Oxy - Hydrogen because you get water H2O.
We use it to prevent Oxidation when bright annealing Stainless but its in a tube furnace and the wire passes through the tube. Its reducing which means it will deoxidise any surface oxides back to the metal. You can imagine the colour the stainless would go if we heated it to 1100 oC in the atmosphere.
