Clean aluminum with acid?

I've used it to dissolve aluminum. Had a failed con rod in a mower engine; remnants stuck to crank. Hydrochloric acid took all the aluminum right off. A drop fell on the case, wiped immediately and left a divot

Ohh, lol.

It was recommended by a friend! I'm not in a huge rush to get the wheels done, since i've come by another project.

Pool suppliers and concrete building product suppliers would sell it by the 4lt containers. Pools owners require it for changing the acidity of the water and brick layers use it to wash down the bricks after building walls to wash off excess mortar and clean the bricks.

Yes, i just used some of my muriatic acid, instructions described use in pools.
