Picked up two of these yesterday for next to nothing as both have leaking seals. A quick search has found some rather expensive seal kits. Has anyone had any luck with getting a seal from a hydraulic specialist?
The older ones are possibly imperial seals, newer versions are metric. I’ve replaced the ram seals in three of these jacks and it’s cost approx £45 for all three. A local hydraulic stockist has been able to match them for me.
If the ram has three red dots to indicate the limit of the stroke you can remove the ram by adding more oil and continue to pump the jack up until the ram exits the top of the cylinder. On the newer ones I’ve had to dismantle the body and cylinder and remove the ram shaft from the bottom, the ram stop on these is spring loaded and care is needed when removing the ram as the parts can spring out.
