Got a customer with a lt151

His son has been driving it parked it up all working fine
went to use it the next time and all the gears will engage but no drive
if you lift the backend off the ground the wheels will spin very slowly forwards and backwards when you engage for/rev

Am i right in thinking this could be a oil seal blown somewhere so there's just enough power to spin the wheels when theres no load on them??

The small gear that protrudes from the side of the gearbox is spinning forwards and back at the right times so i know drive is getting this far
both rear wheels spin when the backend is lifted so can't be a halfshaft

You talk of "all tha gears" which suggests a manual box but then give the impression that it may be hydrostatic , forward and reverse on a lever or pedal with no clutch. Please clarify. If it's a hydro has someone pulled the " dump valve" lever which allows it to be pushed ?

Husqvarna website shows the spec as 6 forward 1 reverse gears, so probably not a hydro box. Maybe a belt is loose? The clutch not tensioning the belt enough? Our old Ingersoll released the tension on the drive belt when you pressed the clutch, lift the rear wheels and they would spin as there was still a bit of belt drag.

reason i said o ring was thinking how could it be just driving but no power-thought along the lines of manual gears but to a oil motor or something??

Belts all seem to be tight there is drive into the gearbox for definite so a internal issue somewhere

I take it you have checked the freewheel lever that these normally have at the back - it disconnects the drive to the wheels so you can push it around?

That is usually for hydrostatic boxes, for manual ones just select neutral.
A couple of thoughts. Has a wheel been removed to repair a puncture and replaced without the key locking it to the axle or has the input pulley sheared it's key and is only driving by friction?

Yeah i did think perhaps it was broke when parked up but makes no difference really still has to be fixed
no wheels have been removed as far as i know
couldn't see any external levers for disengaging drive

The idea of a sheared keyway seems possible. Are there rubber/plastic caps at each wheel you can pull off to view the end of the shaft and see if it's turning? If not I'd pull the wheels off and check.
