Huan Yang inverters

Just about the click the buy button on a Huan Yang 1-ph to 3-ph invertor controller for the Meddings drill I got a few months ago.
Looking around, it seems that HY are about the best known of them, and even if there are cheaper ones, I can't really find much info on them about reliability, etc, whereas the HY ones have been around a while and plenty of people using them.
Anyone got any 'avoid this' or 'that blew up' stories regarding them?
I suppose another major mark in its favour is HY have a German warehouse for the European market, so warranty repairs and parts are relatively easy to get, unlike the no-name ones which mostly seem to be sold by stockists of all sorts other totally unrelated stuff.

Huan Yang - no problems with mine, but I have only had it six months or so.

I was going to buy one but the fact it's very cheap and comes from the far East kind of put me off some what. In the end I bought a brand new Invertek VFD locally cheaper than I could buy and off the t'interweb.

I’ve had a Huan Yang for about 18months on my Harrison lathe - bought from eBay via a German warehouse. Absolutely no problems. Believe it or not HY Inverter’s are being cloned by other Chinese manufacturers apparently, so make sure you get a genuine HY version!

Yep, I sussed the genuine German-warehouse one, and saw the cheaper clones. Given the HY seems to get a thumbs-up from everyone, it's not worth saving a few quid on a cheaper one, as the HY is cheap enough anyway.
