Hello all, I've just purchased a welder from sussex and I need to get it to cleveland!" Has anyone got any advice on who to use courier like type of thing? IE UPS, Parcel force, DHL type? Any suggestions and the weight of Murex tradesmig160. Thanks BBboy
You will need to make sure the seller packs it well, I would advise either on a small pallet sitting on top of a few inches of polystyrene, covered in bubble wrap with an outer layer of card board all wrapped in shrink film, or, in a very strong cardboard box with at least 3" of cushioning material all around it.
There are plenty of good, low price courier services on ebay, I use one called smart courier, I've used them quite alot now and they have never let me down yet. They do a 48HR service, upto 32KG, with max dimensions 90x60x60CM, excluding remote postcodes like Aberdeen etc, for under £8 !! But they have services to cover over sized packages too. Just search on ebay for UK parcel and they and other companies will show up.
There are even full on pallet services on there for really low prices.
Just a little tip on Interparcel, their Economy service usually delivers next day too. Obviously sometimes it might not so don't rely on it but you will usually get pretty quick service even on an economy booking (£6.99).
I have used these people for heavy stuff http://www.wedelivertheworld.co.uk
Seemed a lot cheaper than the others i looked at at the time. The odd thing is i got a price from DHL and what a stupid price it was! Then got a price from the guys above and ni on 50 cheaper and guess who picked up the crate DHL! %
