How to interpret stampings on an SDS bit?

How do I accurately read/interpret the details & sizes that are stamped on the drill shaft?

These are the numbers etc stamped on the SDS bit:
10/15 (in an oval shaped ring)
167 (in a smaller oval shaped ring)
14
SDS Plus (in an oval shaped ring)
That’s it. I can say that it is not quite 10mm (maybe equivalent to 9mm?) what do all the numbers mean please?

is the drill size specified for the sleeve anchors ?
or is the sleeve anchor an m10 ?

if they are m10 fixings they will probably require a 12mm bit
m10 is the bolt thickness then there is also the thickness of the sleeve

Its probily the tips have worn or you have not blown all the dust out m10 sleave should b 10mm drill there not high tollerance so break out big hammer

Hi Snooper & Kayaker.

It`s ok-i can sort the hole size out in relation to the sleeve anchor. Not concerned with that (i have edited my OP as i obviously created the wrong idea of what i was trying to ask-sorry).

I just want to be able to understand what the stampings mean generally. I have other jobs to do, & other SDS bits and like to know this info. Thanks for your contribution there.

It still has the holder on it, none of the part numbers tally up with the stampings, so not that.
They are Heller bits, i wonder if the 46 is a common number to heller made bits, perhaps bits stamped with a 46 go in the heller boxes, and other ones in other branded boxes.

I also have a bosch s4 bit, but that only 184 on it.
It measures 184mm from the end of the slot in the shank to the tip.

the only variables i can think of are length, width and tip angle how they are recorded not sure will dig through the box of bits and report back

Nope, 14g = 2.11mm or 2.032mm

Just got the micrometer on the job and the drill bit in question is a 9mm dia. I have had the magnifying glass out and nowhere is 9mm stamped on the bit-most confusing

Yes. I also measured the tip of a Bosch bit WITH 10mm stamped on the shaft and it is correct.

still no wiser as to the marking s though
