How to fit a QCTP to a lathe without a T slot

I'm keen to fit a quick change tool post, like this one from Phase II, to my 1940s Denham lathe;




Problem is that it expects to be mounted to a carriage that has a T slot, yet mine looks like this;

Here's a quick vid of all of the component parts on my lathe;

I'm assuming, also, that it's critical where the QCTP fits vertically in terms of having any chance of the tool hitting dead centre, so I'd presume that the QCTP needs to sit here;

Machining a T slot in there seems like quite a scary (and one-way!) proposition

Any thoughts? Or am I wasting my money (the lathe only cost me £180 and I suspect the QCTP, with $$$-to-£££ conversion) will cost me the same again...

I wouldn't bother with one a standard one with packings underneath works well unless your feeling flush and doing [production runs

Take the slide off, remove the stud and then fit the QC posts stud through the hole and secure with a nut.

Ok just looked at the vid, no room for a nut but the original stud seems to be threaded in and locked with a couple of Scotch Keys, do the same with the QC one.

What are the diameters of the stud you already have and the stud on the t slot that comes with the new tool post?

Cheers - they look interesting. I'll need to figure out what to measure to see which of these might do the trick.
Certainly seems less effort than milling my existing slider!

If the QCTP bolt is bigger than the stock one just thread the top slide for the bolt to screw into. If it's smaller just mill a pocket in the underside of the slide to accept a flat nut.

What bore does the new QCTP have, you could also make a sleeve nut and nut it down onto the original stud?

Ive been playing with my lathe too, today. Will be watching this with interest

Arc do 100 and 200 series sets for not too much, they also do a wedge style now I see in 200.

They have a 16mm centre bore, you could make a sleeve or even bore out the post, doubleboost bored one recently IIRC.

If you need more height then simply make a spacer to sit it on.

OK - as suggested, I'm looking at whether I could fit a QCTP to the slider as is, either onto the bolt that's there, or removing the bolt and use the one that came with the post.
Please see the pics / vid above for an idea of how the basic block looks right now, and here's the measurements (all mm, of course);

The existing bolt is 12.5mm diameter and 57mm in height.
There is 17mm to play with under the slider (perhaps a little more as it sits above the slider screw).

The existing block is 40mm in height and the centre of the chuck is 16mm from the base of the slider. I suspect that this is a critical measurement as, if any new tool holder can't get the centre to 16mm then the game's a bogey.

It would be great if anyone could give measurements and model numbers of any posts that they have / would recommend (@doubleboost perhaps )

Oh, and the lathe swing is just a tad over 9", if that helps.

Ah - that would make sense. The same page links to an article by a guy who seems to have done something very similar, with pretty much the same size post;
