Hello :-)
I'm restoring a Mk1 Astra GTE. These are renowned for having a rusty bulkhead and mine is no exception. So I bought 1/3 of an astra for it's mint bulkhead and floor near the bulkhead.
I've got the floor patched up and ready, I've removed the bulkhead from the donor part, I've plugged the holes where I had to be a bit brutal with spot-weld removal and I've prep'd the mating surface on the bulkhead.
Here is the floor where the bulkhead will be plug welded (and probably spot welded)...
Here's the bottom of the bulkhead:
I've sprayed U-Pol weld-through primer on the bulkhead to protect it and the floor currently has U-Pol acid etch just to keep it safe.
Question is, what should I do to each surface to guarantee the best chance of it not rusting away again?
