Sorry about this must be on here somewhere, but when do you guys stop useing mig and go to a stick (fluxed ms electrodes)
I thought mig was genrally for thin stuff as the test has proved you can probably half the manufacturers max thickness.
It's just my sons luggage trailer has some poor welds on its drawbar from previose owner, today the drawbar has snapped on a weld (or at least bent so broke half way) I am going to make an a frame out of channel an weld it to the framework for tow hitch to sit on and thought as I'm only playing with my 140amp mig at the moment i would use my stick welder with 2mm or 2.5mm rods as I'm fairly competent on simple welds with that. OR would you just sod it and wind the mig to top and go for it.
When I think about a 2.5 mm rod compared with 0.8mm wire rod must be better
