How much will cost?

Hi Welders !


Can you estimate some how for me how much will it cost

(lots or not too much for) using my R-TEch welder set 160 amps

basically its 13a single fuse normal wall plug .

Will the electricity bill hugely high?

Let's say , my usage of machine is 8h a week?


will my wallet feel it a lot? or its not too bad?

depend on what rates you are paying. I would assume it wouldn't be noticable though, i weld at home around 30 hours a week and dint notice it that much

8 hours welding? Is that actual arc on welding time, or time making, fitting cleaning and all that. Dependant on your argon cost I'd estimate with some rough maths that will be 2 to 4 times as much as the electricity cost!

my leccy bill has gone up since winter as I'm running a TIG, MIG and compressor, normally charging a pair of drills, running the grinder, all my garage lights etc, it all adds up I guess.

Shouldn't cost much. You say eight hours welding, but that's time spent doing welding jobs, not actually welding. The meter only runs when you are squeezing the trigger, and if you add that up you'll be surprised how little that is.

I hope the electrickery costs aren't too high as I'm already using 50% more of the stuff than I'm supposed to be as a 'low user'. Oddly my gas useage is 50% lower. Go figure!
