Thought it was mainly co2 with a hint of argon.
Co2 for mig is half that.

No. It’s mainly Argon with a hint of C02, light is 5% heavy is 20%, C02.
MIG is Metal Inert Gas. Argon is inert, C02 is active.
It’s a common misconception, most of us use a MIG set but the process is actually MAG due to the C02.
