I have just used a 9L bottle of 5% argon welding gas up in about 9-10 hours of total fabrication (so not necessarily just welding) time (only filled it on the 30th of December!). Flow was at 10-11 L/M and bottle pressure was 137bar. Welded the LHF door hinge, flitch, arch and wing repair panel on my Morris Minor and half of the RH side, so a good chunk of work done and more welding than I would normally be doing over 3 days. Only just seems like it all went rather fast, but I am new to renting gas and wasn't sure how long you'd expect a 9 litre bottle to last. Is this about what I should expect?

At 11LPMm that is just about 2 hours of torch on time. Actually less as there is a higher LPM burst at the start. I'd lower the gas to 8-9LPM for bodywork.
I've used up half a 9L bottle in a few hours of welding long seams (16 feet of welding + other welds.) My latest bottle was filled higher tough and has lasted longer.
