Hello all, been looking at the dreaded tin worm on my trusty “so far” Mk5 Transit with the MOT due next month it’s time to address some of the holes I know are lurking just waiting for me to patch.
Last time I used a welder was 20 years back in college, I have just dragged my father’s Sureweld Monomig 101 kicking and screaming out of the attic with a view to some much needed practice and hopefully sticking of new metal onto old.
My query is strangely enough about the gas, not so keen on the small throw away bottles too little for too much but as one of the many unwashed and out of employment people that seem to be about these days I am looking at something a little larger ideally without the bottle rentals charges and within reasonable travel distance to Bridgend between Cardiff and Swansea.
The bay of evil seem to have argon regulators for around the £20 ish mark but the gas seems to be a tad more involved in regards to price and delivery.
Can anyone point me in a general direction of any reasonable suppliers in the area had a look on the suppliers list but not noticed one covering this area, any help would be appreciated.
On a completely different tack if anyone could also point my nose in the direction of a steel stockiest who will do smaller sheets of the 1mm steel again it would be appreciated (can’t seem to see any on Google locally
