how do you manually cut 1mm zintec

i got some tin snips and some aviation snips but they dont fit into the cut it makes if you know what i mean sort of jams
i end up using angle grinder with a slit disk but i want to quietly cut a few thin strips it is a bit of a faff

Fantastic piece of low tech kit. Works just like a can opener. And CHEAP!!!!!!!! it will cut external curves down to about 150mm diameter if you cut out a series of straight lines and leave a small excess to make the curve. For straight lines cant be beaten, except by spending £200 on a pair of power shears. Bargainacious if you are cutting thin sheet.
Bargainacious? no flantastic piece of kit. I have seen of two sets over the years, but I still have one in a box just in case. So accurate when you are cutting sheet metal, did I say they are a great tool?

To make an accurate cut with tin snips, you need to make 2 cuts, first cut about 6mm away from your final cut line, select the appropriately handed snips so that the scrap side of the cut can be bent to accommodate the snips, then make a final cut, and bend the 6mm strip as you go, this also applies to the bench mounted hand shears, and chunko's mini sheet metal cutter as well, they both need to distort the sheet when they cut.

I have a similar wheel type guillotine, (heavier duty and will cut up to 3mm steel sheet) it does not distort the metal when cutting, and sheets can be cut with it. Obviously a little cumbersome on large pieces and difficult to be accurate. Also not suitable for long narrow strips as it does then distort the job.
I think it cost me about £80 and has done years of work, good value if you accept it's limitations.
