how do i measure generator output

Got a mosa 200 amp 2 stroke welder with 110v outlet socket

I've only had it a few months and 2 grinders have gone up in smoke while using it, one was fairly new

The generator doesn't rev up until there is a loadon the plug

I'm thinking it is somehow providing to much power??

Grinders don't run noticibly faster but how much tolerance would they have to input voltage? ?

And how's the best way to put a load on the socket and test output at the same time? ?

I'm using one of these with my big Genny.

The hz needs to be very close to 50 for electronic things.

Voltage isn't so critical but ought to be 220-250.

For testing, simple electric heaters will be pretty robust. Or a kettle, things like that.

if you have a multimeter with frequency measurement on it you can use that, but if it wont test at that voltage then just use a transformer to drop it to what ever your multi meter needs, transformer must be AC output though. failing that get one of these for a tenner they will measure down to 100 volts, if the frequency is wrong you will have to adjust the speed of the engine

Ah yep, try halving what I said then.
