How are people stopping their masks fogging up?

Quite a bit of welding today outside with the mig, welding went fine but the bloody mask kept fogging up between the front protective thin see through bit and the main auto unit itself, so had to keep taking it apart to wipe it down.
To be fair my glasses were also fogging up.
The air was thick with fog/damp but I was having to stop every few minuets to clear the mask/glasses.
It was awkward enough doing vertical down from above without a clear view of the shroud, then the fogging starts and Im thinking yeh just bloody great!

Air fed keeps mine clear. Costs as much as a reasonable a welder though.

Exactly as mentioned above ! I have 2 brand new Speedglas air feed units I bought at great expense a few years ago in uk, they are still staying in their carrying cases !

depends how cold it gets, my issue with welding masks is that with all the layers in the screen you can wipe the moisture off the outer layer but the inner layer remain fogged up. if that that cold its too cold for me to be playing out.

Very nice, but I only just fitted in the hole I was welding in, and had to get one of the guys to pass my mask down to me as I could not reach it once I was in, even then the mask was in the way.

We cant afford a heater, we are even using 2nd hand metal sheet!

I have this when its cold out. Im hoping my new stealth mask will direct my breath down and away from the internal screen.

just practice ,,, sometimes if you get into the way of it you can blow hard enough to still see , eventually though you have to stop and clean everything

its one of things I really like about the panoramaxx the bridge bit over the nose stops most of the fogging on the inner screen .

This exactly - I've made them out of corrugated cardboard and duct tape - it works!
I'd found I was holding my breath to stop the fogging - definately not good for your welding...

I was getting this annoying phenomenon the other day.. I like the idea of making a baffle to keep the breathing bit seperate, I must try and make a cardboard version as above... Anyone got a pic of the nose bridge thing ?

You could try a crash helmet breath deflector. One of my helmets had a piece made out of neoprene like wet suit material which might work as it moulds to your shape.

Bit of cardboard with a profile to suit your conk - don't use stiff card and flip down - it will hurt!

I did that the first time I lipped the panoramaxx down and it's hard plastic ! sorted by the isofit headgear lifting he lid a bit higher . I was wondering what the shaped bit of foam rubber ( sticky backed ) was for in the bits , yep it sticks to the under side of the bridge piece .

I did try the old trick from when I rode bikes, of a drop of washing up liquid then polishing it, but that lasted a few minutes and off we went again.
