How am i doing??

Been doing an hour here and there for a couple of months, have seen definte improvements which i am pleased with.
Feel free to give me any tips and pointers as to how i may do better.
Struggling with straight lines and iam also only using huge mig welding gaunlets so am struggling with dexterity, want to get some tighter fitting gloves that give more feeling - cant afford any yet though as spent all my money on the welder!

Id apply some of those to some joints.
Try butt and lap for starters.

if you have small hands like me, then mig welding gloves are huge, but they are good to wear to protect your hand if you're using a hammer and bolter chisel...... I recently bought some of these gloves off ebay, as small tig gloves seem to be a rare or expensive item, but they do seem better to me than mig gloves. (and Im a beginner at this tig welding thing too)

I usually wear mechanics gloves. Haven't got burned yet. For getting a straight run try positioning the work so that you can slide your hand along something else, like the edge of your table / clamp a piece of steel to something. Won't always work in reality but I find it helpful. Having said this I shouldn't be dispensing advice here really, only a learner myself!
