Just recently done a railing, been advised to have it hot zinc spray as a finish rather than hot dip, is this finish good enough on it's own? I've usually had stuff hot dipped, so don't have enough experience with this finish to know.
The railing is at the finishers now, has been sprayed, they are pressuring me to have it painted but customer likes the zinc grey finish. Finishers have said that hot zinc spray is porous and needs a coating to protect it, I was under the impression that it's almost as good as galv without the extra finishing and cleaning up. To me, if it's porous then, what is the point? Are they trying to pull a fast one to get me to spend more (of my client's) money?
Advice please and thanks.
