I bought a hoil foil machine at the weekend for a bargain £50 but every time I plug it in after a short while it will trip the circuit breaker without heating up. Its a very simple circuit with just a variable controller, warning light and some heating tubes, with the tubes disconnected and thus no current draw no breaker tripping. The manufacturer for the machine is no longer and I cannot find any instructions or specs. RS sells the correct physical size tubes but in a few different wattages, no markings on old cartridges. How can I tell what I need or just go for the hottest? I have a choice of 300w or 600w.
