Well all sorted, i just removed the crappy strap and fitted a car battery lead inplace, bit bulky but does the job untill i can sot a braid strap for it, i can now once again SORT of weld )))

Glad to hear it's been sorted out.

But for what earth clamps cost, you may as well buy a new one rather than mess about with that.

Search on "welding earth clamp" on ebay and about 200 come up starting at £3, including delivery. If you look at the piccies, most of the croc clip ones have the copper braid.

Earth clamps are semi consumables anyway. They have a hard life and need to be replaced sometimes.
