As you are probably talkin re the hose from the regulator you might have to increase the diameter to keep the flow a small hose causes significant drag at low pressure so you might have to go to 8-10mm I use quick release air line couplings on mine so its easy to change welders and have used an air line extension when struggling to save moving big bottle round
The problem with turning up the pressure is when you first strike up you get a massive blast of gas because it has equalized along its length, then the gas slows down to the reduced rate. When we used to have mahusive long hoses on burning tackle we had to go to Big hoses to get the consistent gas flow.Turn the pressure up on the regulator
