Hose clips Torque settings?

The only problem I've had with Jubilee-type clips is when fastening a hose to a straight pipe. If the pipe has a barb then there's no problem.

even with a barb some turbo pipes can blow off quite easily and is quite common, even tightened to max. In fact for high blow you need to go to mikalor clips.

I would have thought that a specific torque would need to relate to a specific tube. A softer rubber tube would compress easier than polypropylene tube.

keep tightening untill whatever pipe there on stops leacking or the threads strip surely

Always used a screwdriver, must get the boy to buy a proper tool for the job. Make a change me borrowing his tools!

If there is enough space and it's important I always fit 2 jubilee clips rather than just one, also if the hose is stiff pvc it helps if you warm it up first and then fit the clip.

On this application, with a suppression system I am now saying 2 hose clips are needed.
