honda 2216 ride on mower

hi folks my father has a ride on mower which runs rough for about 5mins then runs smooth, he has had it looked at but any info has been of no use to us solving it, of the 2 spark plugs 1 looks clean the other sooty i have been trying to find out what the gap should be but cant find any info online can anyone here help us find out what it should be, also would anybody know where i can download a service/repair manual for it , thanks for looking.

Most spark plugs on most petrol engines have in the region of 0.8mm gap... or about 35 thou." if your dad is as old as most on here

Sounds like it could be a sticking valve or similar.

update: set the plugs to point and the old man its starting better know for sure after he has been out on it cutting grass here's hoping, thanks for your help!
