My son and I have been learning to weld. We were welding a thin stainless steel muffler (1 mm thick). we practiced a lot on a scrape piece until we got the welder dialed in and our technique down. Our first attempts, we burned thru and got lots of heat distortion. Once we were happy we took a break tomake sure we were on out A Game for the muffler. I started my muffler weld-we got lots of splatter and really poor welds. We both tried and both sucked. We thought we lost out technique, tried different settings and then tried to force it. We did about 4 inches of really poor welds. Then, I realized I turned the gas off when we went on break. OPS... The rest of the proejct went off well. LOL
